Descrição do vídeo

Vídeo com transcrição em inglês; o áudio está indicado como espanhol. Observa estas três imagens da mesma aluna a ler; mostram um hábito regular, e não três pessoas diferentes. I read every day significa que ler faz parte da minha rotina; uso o present simple para este hábito. Agora observa a aluna a desenhar uma flor; esta imagem mostra uma ação a decorrer neste momento. I am drawing now usa o present continuous; preciso de am e do verbo drawing para descrever esta ação. Com I, dizemos I am drawing; com she ou he, dizemos she is drawing ou he is drawing. Com you, we ou they, usamos are: they are drawing; o verbo de ação tem a terminação ing. Compara I read every day com I am drawing now; a primeira frase indica um hábito e a segunda uma ação a decorrer agora. As palavras every day e now ajudam-nos a compreender o contexto; primeiro decide o que significa a frase completa. O present continuous também pode descrever uma ação temporária em torno do momento atual; nem sempre significa este segundo exato. Hoje praticamos hábitos claros e ações a decorrer agora, por isso concentra-te nessas duas situações. É a tua vez: completa I ___ walk to school every day e I ___ wait for the bus right now. Usa os verbos walk e wait na forma correta do presente; faz uma pausa no vídeo antes de verificar as respostas. As respostas são I walk to school every day e I am waiting for the bus right now. I walk descreve um hábito; I am waiting descreve a ação agora, e o continuous precisa de am antes de waiting.

Transcrição

Look at these three pictures of the same student reading; they show a regular habit, not three different people. I read every day means reading is part of my routine; I use the present simple for this habit. Now look at the student drawing a flower; this picture shows an action happening at this moment. I am drawing now uses the present continuous; I need am and the verb drawing to describe this action. With I, we say I am drawing; with she or he, we say she is drawing or he is drawing. With you, we or they, we use are: they are drawing; the action verb has the ending ing. Compare I read every day with I am drawing now; the first is a habit and the second is happening now. The words every day and now help us understand the context; first decide what the whole sentence means. The present continuous can also describe a temporary action around now; it does not always mean this exact second. Today we practise clear habits and actions happening now, so keep your attention on those two situations. Your turn: complete I blank walk to school every day, and I blank wait for the bus right now. Use the verbs walk and wait in the correct present form; pause the video before you check the answers. The answers are I walk to school every day, and I am waiting for the bus right now. I walk describes a habit; I am waiting describes the action now, and the continuous needs am before waiting.

Complete with the correct present form: I ___ to school every day. (walk) I ___ for the bus right now. (wait)

Resposta

I walk to school every day. I am waiting for the bus right now.

Every day establishes a habit; right now establishes an action in progress. With I, the continuous uses am + waiting.
