After si, never the future

CEFR B1 · part 2

edumaterial's parts within the level. The European framework does not subdivide them.

The rule, in three lines

Three conditional types, and in all three the future and the conditional never follow si.

The usual slip. Writing si je serai, because English sometimes allows «if» + «will».

Why it catches you out. English allows «if» + «will» in some contexts («if you will wait a moment»), and its third conditional uses «would have», which looks far too much like aurais. Both errors come out at once.
