Borrow or buy for the workshop?

B1.2 · Support a proposal on a familiar topic with reasons and a real difficulty.

Opinions, examples, contrast and conditional proposals.

Model

  1. Cela m’aide à arriver à la répétition · The reason explains the effect of the choice.
The proposal considers a different situation without losing its purpose.

Task

Write in French a contribution to the neighbourhood workshop forum. Recommend how to obtain tools for the first month: borrowing, buying or a combination. Support your position with two reasons tied to the notes, address a difficulty of your proposal and explain how to handle it. You may disagree with any participant’s preference.

Planning

  1. Choose your position and link two separate facts to its advantages.
  2. Find a real difficulty for your position and a possible response; do not invent a budget or availability.
  3. Plan a forum text with a position, reasons, a difficulty and a conclusion.

Criteria

  1. Present a recommendation and two case-based reasons; the conclusion makes your proposal clear.

Shows what the recipient can do with your text.

  2. Address a real difficulty of your option and a way to handle it, respecting duration, availability and payment without generalising individual preferences.

Shows how the supplied facts support your response, without invented facts.

  3. Organise ideas into paragraphs and signal the relevant links; pronouns have clear referents.

The reader can follow the reasoning without reconstructing its order.

  4. Your French conveys facts, reasons and qualifications; the register suits the recipient. Complete freedom from errors is not required.

Assessment values communication while allowing errors consistent with the level.

Review

Keep your draft. Review c1–c4: quote evidence or identify what is missing for each criterion. Submit a second version and explain in French one specific change and its effect. If you keep a sentence, explain what you checked. Consult the guide after this attempt; the suggested length does not determine the outcome.
