Questions

— The two chairs at home and the friend’s three usable chairs provide only five seats for six people. They need the pair from the centre, which the sister can collect and deliver on Friday. The friend’s chairs can be collected on Saturday; he will be away on Sunday. Skipping the centre leaves one seat missing, and waiting until Sunday conflicts with the friend’s availability.
— The car becomes available at noon (5), but the centre closes at eleven (6). It will already be closed. There is no stated lack of space in the car; the centre’s return day is Tuesday, not Saturday (10).
— Two at home (1), three usable chairs from the friend (2) and two from the centre (3) make seven for six people. One usable chair is spare. Two spare counts the broken chair; one missing omits the centre’s loan.
— Going to the friend’s home on Monday returns his chairs (4, 9). The centre is the other lender (3) and accepts returns on Tuesday (10). The centre’s loan remains, rather than both loans or the friend’s already returned set.
