Questions

You answer them by listening. If you slip, we tell you where it is.

  1. Was sollte Ben für die Gruppe mitbringen?

Eine Decke und Tomaten. — Ben offers a blanket and has tomatoes. There are four people and the table is for two; Mia does not eat cheese. Anna already supplies enough bread and Mia brings drinks, so those are not Ben’s contributions.

  2. Was kann Mia aufs Brot legen?

Die Tomaten. — Mia does not eat cheese. Ben has tomatoes and Anna supplies enough bread, so Mia can put tomatoes on the bread.

  3. Ben möchte Brot kaufen. Ist das nötig?

Nein, Anna hat genug für die Gruppe. — Ben has no bread, but Anna has enough for four. He need not buy any. Mia is bringing drinks, not bread.

  4. Was brauchen sie morgen nicht?

Ein Dach gegen den Regen. — They eat outdoors tomorrow, when it will be dry: a roof against rain is unnecessary. They do need space for four and something without cheese for Mia.
