The plant-watering rota
CEFR B1233 words

Questions
You answer them with the text in front of you. It isn't memory: it's understanding.
Who has Monday duties at the association after Paula comes back?
— Monday watering and the weekly tank check are separate duties. The final list assigns Monday watering to Paula, while the tank checker retains that duty. Andrés has exchanged watering because of his meeting; he does not water after it. Nuria's previous tank check does not make her Monday's watering replacement.
Why did Nuria's message not justify adding her to Saturday's watering rota?
— Nuria will be nearby in the morning but has a family visit in the afternoon, when watering is needed. She already has keys. Her tank check in the previous week is not this Saturday's watering duty.
Why does the final list need Diego as well as Andrés despite Paula offering another turn?
— Paula returns on Sunday night and cannot cover Saturday; Andrés covers her Friday watering, so Diego fills Saturday. The tank check remains separate, rather than moving between Andrés and Paula. Nuria is nearby in the morning, not available to water in the afternoon.
Who takes over the watering turn that Paula would normally do this week?
Andrés, al regar el viernes. — Paula’s usual watering day is Friday, assigned to Andrés in the final list. Diego covers Saturday. Nuria has keys but cannot cover that afternoon; her presence does not make her the Friday replacement.
What does Paula’s Monday offer help Andrés do?
— Paula takes Monday watering and Andrés has a late meeting that day, freeing him from that afternoon duty. The trip belongs to Paula. No transfer of tank inspection is part of their agreement.
If Diego withdraws, which replacement offer would cover the gap while preserving the exchange Paula and Andrés accepted?
— Diego covers Saturday watering, which is an afternoon duty. A replacement can take that Saturday while Paula keeps the Monday she offered to Andrés. Paula returns on Sunday night, so she cannot fill Saturday on her return. Tank inspection is a separate duty, and returning Andrés to his habitual Saturday would undo his accepted exchange.
