Questions
You answer them with the text in front of you. It isn't memory: it's understanding.
The neighbours put all the food in the container that fits the watermelon. Who carries that food home?
Pablo — White cannot fit the watermelon; red fits all the food. Pablo carries red, so he carries all the packed food in this plan.
A friend takes Pablo’s container. Which size container does the friend receive?
A large container — Pablo carries red, which is large. Eva carries small white, so Pablo’s container is the larger one.
All the food is packed together. Eva checks what she must carry besides her keys. Which load fits the description?
The white box left empty after packing the purchases — Packing all food together uses red, the only box that holds the watermelon, and Pablo carries it. Eva therefore carries the empty white box.
A friend takes the container from Eva’s hand. How does its size compare with Pablo’s container?
It is smaller — Eva carries white, which is small; Pablo carries red, which is large. The friend receives the smaller container.
Pablo swaps containers with Eva before packing his watermelon. Would his new container fit it?
It would not fit — After the swap Pablo has white, which cannot hold his watermelon. Removing smaller items does not change that stated size limit.
They pack all the food together. Pablo gives Eva his box and takes the one she was holding. How many food items does Eva carry in her box now?
Seven food items — The red box fits Pablo’s one watermelon and Eva’s six tomatoes. Pablo originally carries that box. Giving it to Eva transfers all seven food items to her. Six keeps only her original tomatoes; one counts only Pablo’s watermelon; zero retains Eva’s former empty box.
