A useful note for a newcomer
B1.1 · Reorganise a short record to help a new volunteer.
Time sequence, cause and the distinction between completed and pending actions.
Model
· The organisational change is placed in the account.Pourtant, nous avons commencé trop tard
· The contrast retains a problem despite improvement.Une liste des tâches serait utile
· The recommendation is distinguished from what happened.
Task
Write in French a note for someone helping at the neighbourhood library for the first time tomorrow. Reorganise the record around what they need to do and know; do not copy its original order. Explain the priority and distinguish completed from pending work. Formulate the actions and their reasons in your own sentences for the newcomer; selecting and rearranging the documents without reformulating them is not sufficient.
90–150 words
Planning
- Identify completed work and information relevant to tomorrow’s work.
- Relate the objects, the risk and the person who can decide; choose a useful order.
- Plan a connected note with actions, reasons and the status of decisions.
Criteria
- The note guides the newcomer: it selects relevant work and presents a usable sequence. Formulate your own instructions from the observations; a literal extract from the record is partial.
Shows what the recipient can do with your text.
- Explain the reason for the priority and preserve who decides and what is completed or pending.
Shows how the supplied facts support your response, without invented facts.
- Organise ideas into paragraphs and signal the relevant links; pronouns have clear referents.
The reader can follow the reasoning without reconstructing its order.
- Your French conveys facts, reasons and qualifications; the register suits the recipient. Complete freedom from errors is not required.
Assessment values communication while allowing errors consistent with the level.
Review
Keep your draft. Review c1–c4: quote evidence or identify what is missing for each criterion. Submit a second version and explain in French one specific change and its effect. If you keep a sentence, explain what you checked. Consult the guide after this attempt; the suggested length does not determine the outcome.
