A book for two readers

CEFR A2118 words

Questions

You answer them with the text in front of you. It isn't memory: it's understanding.

  1. If Camille left the book in the box only after work on Wednesday, whose usual reading time would be affected?

La pause de lecture de Yanis. — Yanis reads at noon and needs the copy before his break; leaving it after work is too late.

  2. Why does the first plan fail for Yanis on Tuesday?

Le livre reste ailleurs pendant sa pause. — Yanis reads at noon, but Camille leaves the book at home, so he cannot access it during his break.

  3. What specific advantage does the club box offer?

Elle permet un échange sans rencontre. — The box is accessible by day, and on Wednesday they deposit and collect the book at different times.

  4. What does Yanis do that lets Camille read that evening?

Il remet le roman au lieu convenu. — Camille reads at night and collects after work the book Yanis returns to the box.

  5. What stays the same after the new arrangement?

Leurs moments de lecture diffèrent. — They still read at noon and at night; the exchange location changes, not their schedules.

  6. What advantage would Yanis gain from keeping the box at the club rather than moving it to Camille’s home?

— Yanis reads during his lunch break. The book forgotten at home prevented him from reading, while the club box is near work and accessible during the day. Keeping it there supports that schedule. It neither moves his reading to the evening, when he works, nor arranges shared reading: Camille reads in the evening.
