The idea
nachdem places its event before the main-clause event.
nachdem places its event before the main-clause event. In a past narrative, the pluperfect makes this earlier time explicit: nachdem sie geprüft hatte, unterschrieb sie. Clause order does not change event order.
bevor places the subordinate event later. bis marks the boundary up to which a situation continues; sobald marks another situation’s onset when an event occurs. A bis clause does not itself say that waiting began at that point.
während can describe partial overlap without requiring equal durations. To check a reformulation, establish onset, ending and possible overlap first, then check tense and subordinate verb placement. Do not impose different tenses on every sentence containing nachdem.

Transfer to a new case
Solve the new case in German and justify the decisions. Check against the criteria, not just the model wording. Protokoll: Die Technikerin schloss die Prüfung ab; danach öffnete sie das Ventil. Der Pegel stieg, die Öffnung blieb bestehen; beim Erreichen der Marke wurde das Ventil geschlossen. Schreibe zwei Sätze: verbinde Prüfung und Öffnung mit nachdem und Öffnung und Schließgrenze mit bis. Erkläre die Zeitrelation und prüfe die Verbpositionen. Ergänze eine während-Aussage zum steigenden Pegel, ohne gleiche Dauer zu behaupten.
