A clearer notice

CEFR B1213 words

Questions

You answer them with the text in front of you. It isn't memory: it's understanding.

  1. What was missing from the first notice?

What visitors could do at the event — It gives Saturday and ten in the morning, but does not say what people will do. The missing element is the activity itself.

  2. Copy the Spanish word: Lucía first thought the event was a ___.

charla — Lucía reports expecting a talk, “una charla”, rather than practical repair work.

  3. The organisers changed the starting time.

They changed the notice instead.

  4. Who does the phrase about experience especially encourage?

Beginners considering a repair workshop — “No hacía falta experiencia” removes a likely barrier for beginners. It does not limit the workshop to mechanics or say that a bicycle is unnecessary.

  5. Why is the new notice not proven to be the only cause of the increase?

Participants learnt about it through different routes — Some mention the notice, while others come with a person who knows the workshop. These different routes prevent attributing the whole increase to the notice alone.

  6. The organisers plan to ask later participants how they found the activity.

True — They agree to ask future participants how they learned about it. This is a plan to gather evidence, not a completed survey.
