Revisar

The archive's oldest visitor book was initially treated as a reliable record of who had attended the lectures. On closer inspection, however, its neat columns concealed a less straightforward picture. Some visitors had signed on behalf of relatives, while others had written nothing beyond their initials. The absence of a name could therefore reflect a hurried departure rather than an absence from the event itself. This didn't make the book worthless, but it did limit the conclusions we could reasonably draw from it. Our task was to describe those limits without replacing uncertainty with an equally unsupported account. We retained the original entries and added a brief note explaining how they had been collected. Anyone consulting the record would then be able to distinguish what the page actually showed from what we had inferred. It was a modest change, yet an important one: a document can remain useful even when its apparent precision has been questioned.

  1. The archives oldest → The archive's oldest

  2. its neat collums → its neat columns

  3. on behave of → on behalf of

«on behalf of»: On behalf of significa en nombre de alguien; behalf es un sustantivo y no el verbo behave.

  4. This didnt → This didn't

  5. we had infered → we had inferred

  6. its apparant precision → its apparent precision
