Domande
What does the first month prove on its own?
People have bought the pass — Le vendite dimostrano acquisti.
Unused reservations can be released an ___ before a performance.
First-time booking names conclusively identify first-time audience members.
Why is Friday a weak basis for changing the allocation?
A strike also affected other ticket holders — Lo sciopero dei trasporti ha colpito anche i possessori di biglietti ordinari; non si può attribuire lo scarso pubblico di quel venerdì solo all’abbonamento.
They agree to keep the present allocation while gathering more evidence.
True — A propone di mantenere l’assegnazione fino ad analizzare vari spettacoli e B concorda: That’s my view.
The survey should ask about previous ___.

A The theatre pass sold well in its first month. Can we say it's brought in a new audience?
B We can say people bought it. We can't yet say who used it, or whether they would have bought ordinary tickets anyway.
A The booking records show a lot of first-time customers.
B First-time bookings under those names. Some may have attended before as someone else's guest. It suggests growth, but doesn't settle the question.
A Would a short survey help?
B Yes, if we ask about previous visits and what influenced this booking. Asking whether they like the pass won't tell us what they would have done without it.
A And what about the seats left empty on Friday? Should we reduce the number reserved for pass holders?
B Not on the basis of one evening. There was a transport strike, and regular ticket holders stayed away too.
A So we should keep the current allocation until we've looked at several performances.
B That's my view. In the meantime, we can release unused reservations an hour before each performance. That gives other people a chance without pretending we've already proved the pass works.
