La regola
Una sola parola, tempo, ti serve per l'orologio e per il cielo. L'inglese ne usa due: weather è quello che fa là fuori e time è l'ora. E del cielo si parla sempre con it: it's raining proprio adesso, it rains ogni inverno.
L'errore tipico
«Oggi fa brutto tempo» non è the time is bad, è the weather is bad. Attento a caldo, che assomiglia a cold ma vuol dire il contrario: caldo è hot e cold è freddo. E del freddo non si dice I have cold: si dice I'm cold.
