A regra
Uma só palavra, tempo, serve-te para o relógio e para o céu. O inglês usa duas: weather é o tempo que faz lá fora e time são as horas. E do céu fala-se sempre com it: it's raining agora mesmo, it rains todos os invernos.
O erro típico
«Hoje está mau tempo» não é the time is bad, é the weather is bad. Atenção também a estação, que em inglês são duas palavras: season é a do ano e station é a do comboio. E do frio não se diz I have cold: diz-se I'm cold.
