When a plan changes, state what changes and what stays. Check the person, day, time and place. If the new message leaves out an important detail, ask before treating it as confirmed.
The usual slip. Cancelling your attendance does not cancel the event for everyone. A proposal is not an agreement: wait for a reply before counting on another person.
Why it catches you out. «Still» can correspond to «toujours» when a detail remains valid. Read the full message to check which detail is kept and which one changes.
