  1. Reconstrua a proposta sem exagerar seu benefício.
  2. Localize a restrição do contraponto e confira que dado a sustenta.

Two fictional school/community documents, written in English for this activity. Source A: Study proposal: Leave the classroom open at lunch so students can work there. A teacher must be present while the room is in use. Source B: Teacher reply: We support quiet study time, but lunch supervision has not been assigned. Another room is supervised after classes.

  1. A primeira fonte estabelece o ponto de partida: Study proposal: Leave the classroom open at lunch so students can work there. A teacher must be present while the room is in use.
  2. A segunda introduz a precisão que precisa acompanhar a informação: Teacher reply: We support quiet study time, but lunch supervision has not been assigned. Another room is supervised after classes.
  3. A revisão conserva a relação entre ambas: Support for the purpose does not settle supervision, and a later room serves a different time need.

Confirm lunchtime supervision before opening the room, while offering after-school study as a separate option.

Concluir e extrapolar

  • Versão que amplia o alcance

The supervised after-school room already meets the proposed lunchtime need.

  • Versão que preserva o caso

Confirm lunchtime supervision before opening the room, while offering after-school study as a separate option.

Uma frase isolada não fecha o caso

The supervised after-school room already meets the proposed lunchtime need.

Confirm lunchtime supervision before opening the room, while offering after-school study as a separate option.

Conclusão verificável: Support for the purpose does not settle supervision, and a later room serves a different time need.

Fonte A: Newsletter dated Monday: The science display opens in the hall on Thursday. Entry is free for students and visitors. Fonte B: Correction dated Wednesday: The display has moved to the library. The opening day and free admission have not changed. Old printed newsletters may still be on classroom desks.

Resposta: The update explicitly preserves the financial condition. → Retain the free-entry information.; The later notice supersedes the earlier venue information. → Direct visitors to the newly named location.; The change of place does not change the opening date. → Keep Thursday in the revised announcement.

Direct visitors to the newly named location. The later notice supersedes the earlier venue information. Retain the free-entry information. The update explicitly preserves the financial condition. Keep Thursday in the revised announcement. The change of place does not change the opening date.

Fonte A: Library notice: The reading room opens at lunchtime. Students may use it without a booking, but groups must reserve a table the previous school day. Fonte B: Reception reply: A booking holds a table, not the whole room. A group arriving after lunchtime loses its table; individual seats may still be available.

Resposta: Collective use requires advance preparation. → Send the request on the preceding school day.; Personal access is distinct from reserving shared furniture. → Use ordinary admission, subject to a place being available.; The delayed arrival ends the collective entitlement. → Ask about separate places rather than claiming the held table.

Send the request on the preceding school day. Collective use requires advance preparation. Ask about separate places rather than claiming the held table. The delayed arrival ends the collective entitlement. Use ordinary admission, subject to a place being available. Personal access is distinct from reserving shared furniture.

Fonte A: Film club poster: Friday's discussion welcomes visitors. The film has English dialogue and English subtitles; a Portuguese plot summary is available before the screening. Fonte B: Visitor message: I can read short English texts, but fast dialogue is difficult. The summary describes the plot and does not reproduce the discussion questions or every line of dialogue. Afirmação a revisar: “The summary provides a Portuguese translation of the complete screening and discussion.”

  • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: Your aim is to inform readers clearly. I suggest this revision: The Portuguese summary outlines the plot; the film and its subtitles are in English, and the discussion may require further support. Before extending it, check this point: The visitor reports difficulty with fast dialogue, but the texts do not specify what further support they need for the discussion.

The film has English dialogue and English subtitles; a Portuguese plot summary is available before the screening. / Visitor message: I can read short English texts, but fast dialogue is difficult. The summary describes the plot and does not reproduce the discussion questions or every line of dialogue. Aplicação ao caso: A plot outline and same-language subtitles support different aspects of understanding.

Fonte A: Exhibition invitation: Students may submit photos they took. A photo showing an identifiable person needs that person's permission for the exhibition. Fonte B: Editor note: Permission to display a photo at school does not include permission to publish it on the public website. The same photo is being considered for both places. Afirmação a revisar: “A student's own exhibition photo can be posted online using the existing school consent.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: For students new to this activity: Check the photographer's authorship and obtain consent for each intended use. The messages do not show whether website consent has already been obtained.

Contraste de evidências: Exhibition invitation: Students may submit photos they took. A photo showing an identifiable person needs that person's permission for the exhibition. / Editor note: Permission to display a photo at school does not include permission to publish it on the public website. The same photo is being considered for both places. Aplicação ao caso: The right to submit one's own photo does not settle consent from people pictured in it.

Fonte A: Peer support notice: Mentors can help students plan a draft and explain feedback. They cannot grade assignments or submit work on another student's behalf. Fonte B: Student request: My draft is unfinished, and I need help deciding which feedback to use. I also want the mentor to send the final assignment directly to the teacher. Afirmação a revisar: “The mentor can grade my unfinished draft and send it to the teacher after our meeting.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: The requested feedback planning is allowed; the mentor cannot make the requested submission. Does the teacher consider this proposed revision appropriate? The notice does not say which changes the teacher will prefer.

O pedido precisa nomear o dado ausente e explicar qual decisão depende dele. Contraste de evidências: Peer support notice: Mentors can help students plan a draft and explain feedback. They cannot grade assignments or submit work on another student's behalf. / Student request: My draft is unfinished, and I need help deciding which feedback to use. I also want the mentor to send the final assignment directly to the teacher. Aplicação ao caso: Accepting revision support does not transfer authorship or submission responsibility.

Fonte A: Museum visit notice: School groups enter through the side gate at the time on their confirmation. The main gate is for individual visitors; group leaders must bring the confirmation. Fonte B: Leader's email: Our confirmation is for the afternoon, but the bus can arrive in the morning. Reception can change a booking only after checking available group slots. Afirmação a revisar: “Our afternoon confirmation authorizes morning entry because the bus arrives early.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: Imagine an early bus arriving when no morning group slot is available: transport timing would not alter the afternoon confirmation or entrance rule. Earlier transport availability does not change the group's confirmed admission time.

Contraste de evidências: Museum visit notice: School groups enter through the side gate at the time on their confirmation. The main gate is for individual visitors; group leaders must bring the confirmation. / Leader's email: Our confirmation is for the afternoon, but the bus can arrive in the morning. Reception can change a booking only after checking available group slots. Aplicação ao caso: Earlier transport availability does not change the group's confirmed admission time.

Fonte A: Festival notice: A free ticket gives access to the courtyard performances. The indoor workshop needs a separate reservation because its room has limited capacity. Fonte B: Student message: I have a courtyard ticket and want to attend the indoor workshop. My friend has reserved the workshop but has not collected a courtyard ticket. Afirmação a revisar: “My free courtyard ticket also reserves a place in the indoor workshop.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: The criterion is whether the proposed statement preserves the conditions and scope of both documents. One festival can have separate access arrangements for different spaces. The ticket covers courtyard performances; request a separate reservation for the indoor workshop and check courtyard access separately. The notice does not say whether workshop places are still available.

Contraste de evidências: Festival notice: A free ticket gives access to the courtyard performances. The indoor workshop needs a separate reservation because its room has limited capacity. / Student message: I have a courtyard ticket and want to attend the indoor workshop. My friend has reserved the workshop but has not collected a courtyard ticket. Aplicação ao caso: One festival can have separate access arrangements for different spaces.
