Two fictional school/community documents, written in English for this activity. Source A: Application guide: Applicants describe their proposed project in English. The review panel needs to know the intended audience and how the project would reach it. Source B: Draft application: The project will produce an English leaflet, but its description names neither the audience nor a distribution route.

  1. A primeira fonte estabelece o ponto de partida: Application guide: Applicants describe their proposed project in English. The review panel needs to know the intended audience and how the project would reach it.
  2. A segunda introduz a precisão que precisa acompanhar a informação: Draft application: The project will produce an English leaflet, but its description names neither the audience nor a distribution route.
  3. A revisão conserva a relação entre ambas: Choosing an English format does not by itself explain audience or reach.

State the intended audience and distribution plan alongside the English leaflet format.

Concluir e extrapolar

  • Versão que amplia o alcance

Naming the leaflet format fully answers the panel's audience and distribution questions.

  • Versão que preserva o caso

State the intended audience and distribution plan alongside the English leaflet format.

Uma frase isolada não fecha o caso

Naming the leaflet format fully answers the panel's audience and distribution questions.

State the intended audience and distribution plan alongside the English leaflet format.

Conclusão verificável: Choosing an English format does not by itself explain audience or reach.

Fonte A: Project page: A report's first edition described the trial as completed. A revised edition says one site still needs inspection and links to a dated correction note. Fonte B: Partner summary: A translated paragraph still says the trial was completed everywhere. Its editor consulted the revised page but kept an older saved paragraph to shorten the translation task.

Resposta: A remaining task prevents the claim from covering every location. → Keep that exception when describing completion.; A correct reference cannot repair outdated content. → Revise the words to match the edition actually cited.; Traceability requires an inspectable link between versions. → Preserve access to the dated correction record.

Revise the words to match the edition actually cited. A correct reference cannot repair outdated content. Keep that exception when describing completion. A remaining task prevents the claim from covering every location. Preserve access to the dated correction record. Traceability requires an inspectable link between versions.

Fonte A: Working group note: Members agree to test a quiet study zone in the courtyard if shade and seating can be provided. They have not agreed to remove the existing indoor room. Fonte B: Facilities reply: Temporary seating is available, but shade requires a separate decision. A draft summary calls the courtyard plan a permanent replacement for the indoor room.

Resposta: Agreement to test does not authorise an irreversible policy. → Restore the limited trial commitment.; Meeting one requirement does not satisfy a combined prerequisite. → Settle the remaining condition before starting the experiment.; The group has not consented to the separate replacement decision. → Keep that provision outside the reported agreement.

Settle the remaining condition before starting the experiment. Meeting one requirement does not satisfy a combined prerequisite. Restore the limited trial commitment. Agreement to test does not authorise an irreversible policy. Keep that provision outside the reported agreement. The group has not consented to the separate replacement decision.

Fonte A: Consultation summary: Most meeting speakers favoured moving the public study room upstairs. The summary describes the meeting as a neighbourhood consensus. Fonte B: Access record: The meeting took place upstairs without step-free access. Several residents who use the ground-floor room sent written concerns instead, and those submissions were not included in the speaking count. Afirmação a revisar: “The meeting's speaking majority establishes neighbourhood consensus on the upstairs move.”

  • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: Your aim is to inform readers clearly. I suggest this revision: Report the speakers' support alongside the omitted written concerns and the meeting's access barrier; do not label that count neighbourhood consensus. Before extending it, check this point: The records do not establish the distribution of views across the whole neighbourhood.

Contraste de evidências: Consultation summary: Most meeting speakers favoured moving the public study room upstairs. The summary describes the meeting as a neighbourhood consensus. / Access record: The meeting took place upstairs without step-free access. Several residents who use the ground-floor room sent written concerns instead, and those submissions were not included in the speaking count. Aplicação ao caso: A summary's authority depends on whose contributions were possible and whose were counted.

Fonte A: Local post: A park will close for the whole term, according to a screenshot of a draft maintenance memo. Two other accounts repeat the same screenshot as confirmation. Fonte B: Park office response: The draft discussed one section of the park and has not become an approved closure notice. The reposts cite no source other than that same image. Afirmação a revisar: “Three accounts independently confirm a whole-park closure for the term.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: For students new to this activity: Seek an approved notice and treat the repeated screenshot as one unconfirmed source. The response does not establish the final maintenance arrangement.

Contraste de evidências: Local post: A park will close for the whole term, according to a screenshot of a draft maintenance memo. Two other accounts repeat the same screenshot as confirmation. / Park office response: The draft discussed one section of the park and has not become an approved closure notice. The reposts cite no source other than that same image. Aplicação ao caso: Multiple reports based on one draft do not supply multiple independent decisions.

Fonte A: Student editorial: An early opening of the study room could help students with morning bus arrivals. The proposal relies on a staff member being available before regular classes. Fonte B: Staff response: We support extra study time, but no early-duty shift is funded. A later session is staffed, though it does not meet the morning travellers' stated need. Afirmação a revisar: “Staff reject extra study time, and the later session fully replaces the requested morning access.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: Staff support the goal but identify an unfunded shift; the later session serves a different time need. Can an early-duty shift be funded and staffed? The messages do not establish whether early-shift funding could be obtained.

O pedido precisa nomear o dado ausente e explicar qual decisão depende dele. Contraste de evidências: Student editorial: An early opening of the study room could help students with morning bus arrivals. The proposal relies on a staff member being available before regular classes. / Staff response: We support extra study time, but no early-duty shift is funded. A later session is staffed, though it does not meet the morning travellers' stated need. Aplicação ao caso: Acknowledging a practical objection can refine a proposal without changing its beneficiaries' need.

Fonte A: Interview extract: A resident says, 'Some families joined the new project; others are still considering it.' The interviewer spoke to one resident and recorded no household survey. Fonte B: English press draft: The neighbourhood has joined the project. Its editor wants a brief sentence for visiting readers but must retain the interview's attribution and uncertainty. Afirmação a revisar: “The interview establishes that the neighbourhood has joined and that other families have refused.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: Imagine some families joining while others continue deliberating: the quoted account could hold without a neighbourhood-wide decision or refusal by those still considering. Conciseness must not erase the source's partial scope, attribution or unresolved positions.

Contraste de evidências: Interview extract: A resident says, 'Some families joined the new project; others are still considering it.' The interviewer spoke to one resident and recorded no household survey. / English press draft: The neighbourhood has joined the project. Its editor wants a brief sentence for visiting readers but must retain the interview's attribution and uncertainty. Aplicação ao caso: Conciseness must not erase the source's partial scope, attribution or unresolved positions.

Fonte A: Campaign dashboard: The school safety message was viewed many times. It encouraged students to report unsafe crossings through a form. Fonte B: Evaluation note: The dashboard counts views rather than distinct students. The form has no recorded reports yet, and the team has not measured changes in crossing behaviour. Afirmação a revisar: “Each view represents a different student whose crossing behaviour became safer.”

    • Preserva alcance, condições, referentes e qualquer incerteza pertinente.

Resposta: The criterion is whether the proposed statement preserves the conditions and scope of both documents. An exposure metric does not establish unique reach, successful reporting or a behavioural outcome. Report the recorded views as exposure events, then collect evidence on distinct reach, reporting barriers and crossing behaviour before claiming improved safety. The records do not show why the form has received no reports.

Contraste de evidências: Campaign dashboard: The school safety message was viewed many times. It encouraged students to report unsafe crossings through a form. / Evaluation note: The dashboard counts views rather than distinct students. The form has no recorded reports yet, and the team has not measured changes in crossing behaviour. Aplicação ao caso: An exposure metric does not establish unique reach, successful reporting or a behavioural outcome.
